APC SHINING STAR ; The Influence Of Pastor Ize-Iyamu In Okpebholo's Victory A Strong Lesson To Learn
In life, I’ve learned a valuable lesson that keeps me calm in the face of challenges: within every adversity lies the seed of an equal or even greater advantage. No matter the problem, remember this truth—there’s always an opportunity hidden in the difficulty. So, in a sense, adversity doesn’t truly exist.
At this point, the PDP, its supporters, and those holding current government appointments, who are clearly the losers in this Edo gubernatorial election, should begin to reflect on the lessons to be learned. These lessons can serve as a stepping stone toward achieving greater heights in the future.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the APC gubernatorial candidate in the 2020 Edo election, was and continues to be a formidable force in Edo politics. His loss to Obaseki's reelection was influenced by several factors, including internal sabotage within the APC and the popular sentiment that "4 plus 4 equals 8," meaning Obaseki should complete his two terms. Additionally, Obaseki had the support of powerful figures like Wike and others within the PDP, further strengthening his position.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu was initially seen as a strong contender in the Edo 2024 race, with widespread influence and well-established party networks across the three senatorial districts. However, after the party chose Senator Monday Okpebholo as its candidate, Pastor Ize-Iyamu, fondly known as POI by his supporters, became a crucial pillar of support for the campaign structure, lending his experience and strength to ensure the party’s success.
It was evident that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu contributed not only his intellectual prowess but also his physical and financial support to the Monday Okpebholo and Dennis Idahosa ticket. It felt like a divine ordination, with Pastor Ize-Iyamu serving as the officiating priest of this union. His vigorous campaigning for the team was reflected in the results from his unit, ward, and local government, proving his dedication to their success.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has demonstrated a powerful lesson for all: pride should never stand in the way of personal or collective goals. His tireless efforts during the campaign were as if he were the candidate himself—not out of a desire to be a godfather, but because of his unwavering commitment to a better Edo State.
Ize-Iyamu has truly proven to be a shining star in this APC victory. His dedication was evident at every step—whether through his live videos, door-to-door campaigning, or his relentless support before, during, and after the elections. Kudos to a remarkable team player whose contributions have made a lasting impact!
