Focus on Unity and Good Ideals , Not Division: An Appeal to Edo APC Members.

As the dust settles after the Edo State election victory of Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC), it is crucial for party members to remain unified and focused on the bigger picture. The victory at the polls is a testament to the party’s strength and the people’s belief in its vision for progress. However, the recent surge of protest messages circulating on social media, particularly surrounding appointments, zoning, and personal interests, threatens to overshadow the hard-fought success. Now is not the time for division. It is a time for solidarity and trust in our governor-elect and party leadership.

The appointments process is a delicate task that requires careful thought and balance. Monday Okpebholo and the APC leadership are more than capable of making these critical decisions with wisdom and fairness. While it’s natural for individuals to have ambitions, expressing grievances through public channels weakens the party’s image and gives the opposition unnecessary fuel to gloat. We must avoid internal wrangling that could distract from the collective goal of ensuring that the new government delivers on its promises to the people.

Party members must remember that zoning and appointments are part of a larger strategy for governance. These decisions are not made hastily but are designed to ensure equitable representation and effective administration across the state. Rather than allowing personal or regional interests to cloud our judgment, we should trust the process and the leadership that has brought the party this far. Our leaders have the experience and foresight to balance these factors in a way that benefits all.

It is essential to recognize that the real work begins after the election. The incoming government needs our full support to craft a policy roadmap that will guide its performance in office. By focusing on creating a comprehensive strategy for development, job creation, security, and infrastructure improvement, we can help the new administration succeed. This is where the energy of every party member should be directed, not toward debates over appointments.

The opposition may be reveling in the current controversy, but we must not allow them to capitalize on it. Their focus is on causing distractions, while our focus must remain on governance. The APC has been given a mandate to govern, and we must be disciplined enough to work together to ensure that the will of the people is fulfilled. Internal cohesion and trust in leadership are the keys to delivering on the promises made during the campaign.

In the spirit of unity, APC members should be patient and allow Monday Okpebholo and our leaders the space to make decisions that are in the best interest of the state. The ongoing discourse about appointments on social media is premature and unnecessary. Instead, let’s offer constructive input on how we can improve governance and bring lasting change to Edo State. This is the true test of our commitment to progress.

In conclusion, let us set aside our differences and focus on the greater good. The people of Edo State have placed their trust in the APC to lead them to a brighter future.
