The latest feather to his cap, already beautifully adorned with well-deserved awards, is the Meritorious Distinguished Service Award by the Rotary Club of Asaba. This award is in recognition of His Selfless Service to Humanity through his human-faced motions, legislative and oversight prowess, people-centric bills, continuous empowerment, advocacy for institutional reforms, and philanthropy.
As a rep member from Edo South, Hon. Chief Billy Osawaru's legislative advocacy has not just been impactful on his constituents but has transcended his federal constituency. Such an emerging statesman's disposition is unprecedented in the history of legislative representation, underscoring his patriotism.
Receiving the award, Hon. Chief Billy Osawaru expressed his gratitude for the honor done to him by a foremost community-based humanitarian organization. He added that he has huge respect for the Rotary Club International due to the quality of members, methods of admission of members, and how exceptional the club has been in the actualization of its vision and mission. He promised to do more in the service of humanity as this award has spurred him to go the extra mile in putting smiles on the faces of people.
This award is the second in the space of one week as the Edo North Unity Forum Worldwide recently honored the proud Benin Chief with an Award of Excellence in appreciation of his intervention in the plight of communities in Edo North under the siege of terrorists/herdsmen through a motion of urgent national importance.
