Today, I held a strategic meeting with the management of Nipco Gas in Edo to discuss Governor Monday Okpebholo’s plan to collaborate with them and other stakeholders in reducing gas prices across Edo State. The discussions also addressed challenges surrounding their Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion program, strategies to subsidize prices, and measures to increase accessibility for Edo residents, aiming to alleviate the difficulties caused by long queues.

During the meeting, I requested:

 1. A comprehensive list of Nipco Gas staff to ensure the employment of Edo indigenes.

 2. A report on projects executed under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

 3. A list of contractors engaged, in alignment with Governor Okpebholo’s vision to safeguard the interests of Edo people.

I also assured the management of the state government’s commitment to fostering a conducive business environment for stakeholders and investors in the Oil and Gas sector.

The visit concluded with an inspection of Nipco Gas stations at Aduwawa to ensure compliance with Federal Government pricing policies and to assess the safety standards of their facilities.

I was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, as well as the Director of Oil and Gas, highlighting the importance of this engagement in achieving the state’s energy goals.
