Donald Trump is a true leader when it comes to conflict resolution.

In times of conflict, the true allies of a nation are those who advocate for peace, not those who supply weapons or encourage the continuation of hostilities. It is vital to recognize the difference between those who seek a resolution and those who benefit from prolonging war.

Criticism of leaders such as former U.S. President Donald Trump warrants deeper reflection. A wise leader is one who seeks dialogue and reconciliation, bringing both sides to the negotiating table in hopes of achieving peace. President Vladimir Putin, for instance, has shown willingness to consider peace talks, while the Ukrainian president—whose citizens face daily casualties—seems determined to impose conditions that may impede peace.

This situation raises important questions. A popular Nigerian saying, often expressed in Pidgin, states, "Person wen he need help, nahim he hand dey long pass." Translated, it means: "The one who needs help must be willing to accept the terms set by others." In this context, it suggests that a country in dire need of assistance must be open to compromise and negotiation, even if it means accepting conditions.

The role of the United States in the ongoing conflict cannot be overlooked. Under President Joe Biden’s leadership, America has consistently supported Ukraine in the war, but the repercussions of this support deserve careful examination. It is important to understand the motivations behind such involvement. Some nations and leaders support conflicts not out of genuine concern for the affected people, but because of what they stand to gain—be it politically, economically, or otherwise.

Recent reports from Ukraine highlight troubling patterns of corruption, including alleged kickbacks to politicians, with some implicating figures such as former President Biden. These revelations should prompt reflection on the broader consequences of war, not just for the nations directly involved but for global stability as a whole.

Ultimately, in any war, the true friends of peace are those who seek to end the violence and bring about a lasting resolution, while the enemies are those who fuel the conflict for personal gain.
