There is one pursuit that transcends all others — the pursuit of God’s presence. David expressed it powerfully: “One thing have I desired…” His heart longed not for fame, power, or possessions, but to dwell in the presence of the Lord.

Everything you’ve ever desired — peace, purpose, healing, rest, and victory — is found in His presence. But remaining there takes sacrifice. It means turning away from the distractions, compromises, and corruption of the world to embrace a life of intimacy with God.

To dwell in His presence is to rise above the deception of the world.
Those who stay close to God are not easily manipulated or misled. They walk in truth, guided by the Spirit, immune to the noise of the world.

In His presence, battles are won and yokes are broken.
When you fight from His presence, you fight from a position of strength. Your enemies are frustrated, burdens are lifted, and miracles become natural. It is better to labour to stay in God’s presence than to struggle outside it.

Think of Moses. Because he remained in God’s presence, he operated in divine authority. He didn’t just witness God’s acts — he understood His ways. He glowed with heavenly glory and carried the weight of God’s voice. While others worshiped idols, Moses stayed on the mountain.

Men who walk closely with God live above death.
Scripture tells us that Enoch walked with God — and was no more. Elijah was taken in a whirlwind. These were men who lived so closely with God that the earth could not keep them.

But intimacy with God comes with a price: separation.
Sin separates us from Him. God’s hand is not short, nor are His ears deaf — but our iniquities create distance (Isaiah 59:1–2). Just as a child enjoys full support when living under their parents' roof, we enjoy full spiritual covering and guidance when we dwell in the presence of our Father.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Let this be your life’s greatest desire — to seek Him, to know Him, to dwell in His presence. In that place, burdens fall, battles cease, and true life begins.

Prayer:
Father, I desire one thing — to dwell in Your presence all the days of my life. Help me to separate from sin, resist the distractions of the world, and live a life that seeks You daily. May I behold Your beauty and walk in Your ways. Amen.
