HON ESOSA IYAWE JOINED THE CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC ACCOUNTS, ON A FAMILIARIZATION TOUR TO DANGOTE INDUSTRIES...

 On Thursday, I joined the Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Hon. Bamidele Salam, and some of our distinguished colleagues on a familiarization tour to the Dangote Industries Free Zone (DIFZ) and the Lagos Free Zone (LFZ). As part of the visit, we inspected strategic national assets including the Dangote Refinery and the Lekki Deep Sea Port.

We were warmly received by the Managing Director of DIFZ, Mr. Olayinka Akande; the Managing Director of NEPZA, Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi; and the MD/CEO of LFZ, Mrs. Adesuwa Ladoja, who hails proudly from our very own Oredo Federal Constituency. Her role in advancing economic development in the zone is a source of great pride to us.

During this visit, I reaffirmed my long-standing position on the monopolistic tendencies under the previous administration of the GMD of NNPCL, which stifled competition and undermined transparency in the oil and gas sector. It is encouraging to see a significant shift under the current administration.
