EDO STATE PARKS AND GARDENS AGENCY AND OREDO COUNCIL, PARTNER TO BEAUTIFY CITY CENTRE.

The Managing Director of the Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency, Pastor Stanley-Dave Ighodaro, along with key staff members, on Wednesday, October 8th, met with the Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Gabriel Iduseri, to strengthen collaboration on the beautification and greening of public spaces within the city.

The meeting, held at the Oredo Council Secretariat, focused primarily on enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the city centre—Ring Road—and extending beautification efforts across Oredo. Both parties engaged in a robust discussion on sustainable landscaping, maintenance, and the strategic placement of ornamental plants to elevate the city’s visual character.

During the meeting, the Managing Director shared the Agency’s broader vision for a greener Edo and highlighted ongoing projects that have received the Governor’s full support, including the restoration of the historic Ring Road fountain and the comprehensive revitalization of King’s Square.

After the discussions, the team embarked on a joint road walk around Ring Road to assess key areas requiring maintenance, replanting, and aesthetic upgrades. The exercise underscored the importance of Ring Road as the symbolic heart of Oredo and Edo State — a gateway that shapes visitors’ first impression of the city.

Both the Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency and Oredo Local Government Council reaffirmed their commitment to work hand in hand in making the city centre cleaner, greener, and more welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
