Edo Youth Commissioner Drives Strategic Use of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN)Facility to Accelerate New Edo Line Operations

 

The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo, has continued to demonstrate visionary leadership in repositioning Edo’s youth-focused institutions as strategic contributors to the state’s economic growth and development agenda.

In a significant milestone, the Commissioner facilitated a forward-looking partnership between the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Edo State Chapter, and the newly revitalized New Edo Line, designed to expand the transport company’s business footprint while unlocking fresh socio-economic value for the State.

Recognizing the National Youth Council of Nigeria prime property located along Akpakpava Road, Benin City—a long-underutilized strategic asset—the Commissioner initiated high-level engagements on how the facility could serve as a catalytic support structure for government-owned enterprises undergoing modernization, restructuring, and business expansion.

Through his intervention, and in appreciation of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s robust investment in youth development and public infrastructure, the NYCN leadership graciously approved the free deployment of their property as an operational hub for New Edo Line. This decision strengthens the company’s passenger services, enhances logistics operations, and elevates its visibility within a high-traffic commercial corridor.

By aligning the NYCN’s strategic infrastructure with the New Edo Line’s expansion agenda, the Youth Ministry is promoting a groundbreaking cross-sector partnership that delivers mutual benefits.
