In appreciation of his sterling contributions to business management, economic development, and related sectors, the leadership of the Chartered Institute of Business Management on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru.
The institute commended the vibrant lawmaker, renowned for his extensive training and experience in finance, insurance, business development, and management, for his commitment to promoting professionalism in the sector. This commitment is evident in his sponsorship of specialized bills and motions aimed at strengthening institutional frameworks in business development and management.
During the visit, Hon. Osawaru engaged the Institute's leadership in insightful and solution-oriented discussions on policy interventions capable of advancing the profession. He assured them that actionable recommendations from the engagement would receive due attention on the floor of the Green Chamber.
The institute also used the opportunity to formally notify the distinguished Benin Chief of his nomination for a forthcoming Fellowship Award, an honour tied to his contributions to national development and sectoral reform.
It is noteworthy that Hon. Osawaru recently sponsored a Bill for the establishment of a Chartered Institute of Business Development, which has successfully passed its second reading. This courtesy visit, therefore, stands as further acknowledgment of his innovative ideas and legislative impact.
