WHEN LOVE RISES ABOVE WOUNDS

— The Power of Spiritual Nobility

We live in a generation where forgiveness is rare, bitterness is celebrated, and revenge is seen as strength. But true spiritual maturity is tested not in how we fight back — but in how we rise above.

Nelson Mandela once invited a man to dine with him — the same man who tortured him in prison and once urinated on his head when he begged for water. The man shook uncontrollably, thinking Mandela would seek revenge now that he was president.

But Mandela said:

“If I did not leave behind my anger and hatred, I would remain a prisoner forever.”

That is spiritual nobility.

The Bible teaches:

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21)

“Love your enemies… do good to those who hate you.” (Matthew 5:44)

Hatred is poison — it doesn’t imprison your enemy, it imprisons you.

Many today carry weights of anger, believing lies, hating people over rumors, turning bitterness into identity.

But God calls us higher.

“Vengeance is Mine, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:19)

And on the Cross, Jesus said:

“Father forgive them…” (Luke 23:34)

Forgiveness is not weakness — it is spiritual strength.

Hate is for the weak.

Love is for those walking in the Spirit.

If Mandela could forgive torture,

and Christ could forgive crucifixion…

Then what is our excuse?

Let go.

Forgive.

Release.

Walk free.
