BIOGRAPHY OF COMRADE ADESUWA BLESSING ARIGBE
Comrade Adesuwa Blessing Arigbe is a committed public servant, grassroots mobilizer, and passionate advocate for community development whose journey in leadership and public service has been defined by dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of her people. With a background that spans student leadership, civil service, political participation, and international exposure, she brings a wealth of experience and perspective to public life.
Her leadership journey began during her university years at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), where she distinguished herself as an active voice for students and a champion of collective progress. While at the university, she served as Director of Socials for the National Association of Edo State Students (NAESS), University of Benin Chapter, a role in which she successfully organized social and cultural programs that strengthened unity among Edo students and promoted cultural pride. Her outstanding commitment and leadership ability also led to her emergence as Vice President within the University of Benin student leadership structure, where she contributed meaningfully to student representation, policy discussions, and welfare advocacy.
These early leadership experiences laid the foundation for her long-standing involvement in politics and community development. Driven by a desire to represent and serve her people, Comrade Arigbe stepped into active politics and, in 2011, she contested for a seat in the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency, then she left Egor to her Constituency in Ovia North East. Her candidacy marked a bold step in her political journey, demonstrating her courage, determination, and commitment to democratic participation and inclusive representation.
Within her political party, Comrade Arigbe has continued to play significant roles over the years. She has served on several committees, contributing to party organization, grassroots mobilization, and strategic planning. Through these responsibilities, she has built a reputation as a dedicated party member who believes strongly in teamwork, discipline, and the importance of strengthening democratic institutions from within.
Beyond politics, Comrade Arigbe has had a distinguished career in the civil service, where she served for over thirteen years. During this period, she gained extensive experience in public administration, governance processes, and service delivery. Her years in the civil service strengthened her understanding of policy implementation, accountability, and the importance of effective public institutions in driving development.
