ORHIONMWON/UHUNMWONDE IS NOT A LABORATORY FOR EXPERIMENTS

 REBUTTAL:

The recent article by Liberty ‘Ruyi titled “Edo South APC Rep Tickets: Of Osifo, Igbinovia, Obazee and Igbinedion” attempts to project certain individuals as the natural choices for the APC in Edo South. While everyone is entitled to personal opinion, it is important to separate political marketing from the political realities on ground.

First, the attempt to compare or subtly substitute Hon. Chief Dr Billy Adesuwa Osawaru, the incumbent member representing the good people of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode federal constituency at the House of Representatives with Hon. Washington Osifo noting that it is a consensus choice is not only a figment of his imagination but simply unrealistic. For clarity, there is no consensus arrangement in Orhionmwon Uhunmwode,

Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Osawaru is not a theoretical candidate or an aspirant promising what he will do; he is already delivering. At the Green Chamber, he has distinguished himself as one of the most effective voices from Edo State, consistently representing the interests of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde with competence, accessibility, and results.

Representation is not a classroom exercise where one tests new theories every election cycle. It is about experience, relationships, legislative capacity, and proven commitment to the people. Hon. Chief Billy Osawaru has built these assets over time, and the constituency is already benefiting from them.

Returning him to the House of Representatives offers clear advantages:

Legislative experience and influence already established in the National Assembly.

Continuity of projects and constituency programs already initiated.

Stronger representation through relationships built across the Green Chamber.

Stability and trust between the representative and the people.

Discarding such an asset for experimentation would be politically unwise and against the interest of the constituency.

It is also important to stress that political endorsements written from comfortable bedrooms or small circles cannot override the will of the people. The destiny of two entire local governments—Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde—cannot and should not be decided by a handful of voices detached from grassroots reality.

The people on ground know who has stood with them, who has represented them, and who has delivered results.

As for the other constituencies mentioned in the article—Egor/Ikpoba-Okha, Oredo, and Ovia—everyone is entitled to support their preferred candidates, and there is no issue with that. But Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde is a different conversation entirely.

For the people of the constituency, the position is clear and unwavering: Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Osawaru remains the best choice to continue representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency.

Experience matters. Performance matters. And most importantly, the voice of the people matters. Soon, that voice will speak loudly. Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde is sealed with Hon. Osawaru.
