Edo South Needs Results, Not Repackaged Mediocrity - Let’s stop pretending Ogbeide-Ihama’s 8 years in the House of Reps moved Edo South or Oredo forward.

 

His record is abysmal.

Two terms in the House and the best he could show for it was *Chairman, House Committee on Culture* While other Reps from other States were chairing Works, Appropriation, Petroleum Upstream, and NDDC committees where federal money and projects are decided, Ogbeide-Ihama was chairing culture. 

That tells you everything about his weight in the National Assembly. He couldn’t break into the rooms where budgets are made. He couldn’t influence a single major federal project for Edo South. No road, no NDDC intervention, no federal appointment pipeline that benefited the whole district. Ask the twelve wards of Oredo what they got from his 8 years. Silence. He brought a hired bus to convey people around during electioneering campaign and took them away after elections. 

Compare that to PoI.

PoI didn’t just hold office. He built people. 

Ask around Edo State public service today. The number of Edo South indigenes PoI influenced into the state civil service, parastatals, and federal agencies is in their hundreds. People who are feeding families, paying school fees, and representing Edo South in Abuja right now because PoI opened doors. 

That’s representation. That’s what a leader does before he even gets to the Senate. You don’t wait for office to start delivering. You build capacity, you build people, you build structure.

They are not in the same league. One is a committee chairman of culture with nothing to show for 8 years. The other is a political operator who has been delivering access and opportunities for Edo South for over a decade.

Bottom line:

Ogbeide-Ihama had 8 years to prove himself in the House. He delivered below average for Oredo and nothing for Edo South.  

PoI has been delivering for Edo South without even holding the Senate seat.

2027 is not for excuses on the job. It’s for sending someone who already knows the job.

Silence the debate with facts. PoI is the standard. Ogbeide-Ihama doesn’t meet it.
