Why APC Screening Comm’tee Told Billy Osawaru To Take A Bow In Edo Reps Screening

 The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee for aspirants seeking the party’s ticket for the Uhunmwonde/Orhionmwon Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives reportedly asked the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Billy Osawaru, to “take a bow and go” during the screening exercise held ahead of the party primaries in Edo State.

The development, according to party sources, was viewed as a mark of honour and recognition of Osawaru’s standing within the party as a serving federal lawmaker seeking a second term in office. 

It was gathered that the committee adopted the gesture after brief interactions with the lawmaker during the screening process.

A party stakeholder who spoke on condition of anonymity said the action portrayed the confidence the party leadership and screening panel have in the lawmaker’s loyalty, contributions and continued relevance within the APC structure in the constituency.

“The committee asking Hon. Billy Osawaru to take a bow and go simply reflects the level of respect and acceptance he enjoys as a sitting member of the House of Representatives. It shows that he remains in good standing with the party,” the source said.

Another party faithful noted that the gesture further reinforced the growing belief among supporters that Osawaru remains a strong contender ahead of the primaries, considering his grassroots connection and role in party mobilization across Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde local government areas.

“The screening was smooth and successful. What happened there has already energized his supporters because many see it as a sign of confidence in his leadership and representation,” the source added.

Political observers say the development may further strengthen Osawaru’s chances as the APC moves closer to its primaries, with supporters describing the lawmaker as experienced, accessible and committed to attracting greater political visibility to the federal constituency.
