EDO STATE PARKS AND GARDENS AGENCY COMMENCES REPLACEMENT OF DEAD TREES ALONG AIRPORT ROAD, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO A GREENER, CLEANER AND MORE BEAUTIFUL EDO STATE

 Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency Replaces Dead Trees Along Airport Road Median

In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability and the beautification of Edo State, the Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency (ESPGA), under the leadership of its Managing Director, Pastor Stanley Dave Ighodaro, has commenced the replacement of dead tree seedlings along the Airport Road median.

The exercise, carried out with the support of the Agency's management team and staff, forms part of the Agency's continuous efforts to sustain the gains of previous tree-planting initiatives and advance the SHINE Agenda of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State.

Speaking during the exercise, Pastor Stanley Dave Ighodaro reaffirmed the Agency's unwavering commitment to creating a greener, healthier and more aesthetically pleasing Edo State. He noted that replacing dead trees is essential to preserving the integrity of the State's urban landscape and ensuring that every tree-planting initiative delivers its intended environmental benefits.

The Managing Director further emphasised that trees offer far more than visual appeal. According to him, they improve air quality, provide shade, help regulate temperatures, support biodiversity and contribute significantly to the overall health and well-being of residents.

He therefore appealed to members of the public to take ownership of the newly planted trees by protecting and nurturing them, stressing that environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility.

Pastor Ighodaro also reiterated that Governor Monday Okpebholo remains fully committed to restoring Edo State's green landscape and enhancing its natural beauty. He assured residents that the Agency will continue to implement programmes and initiatives that align with the Governor's vision of building a cleaner, greener and more beautiful Edo State.

As the Agency continues to champion environmental sustainability across the State, the tree replacement exercise stands as a testament to its resolve that every green initiative must be sustained, not merely launched. Through consistent maintenance, strategic landscaping and active community participation, the Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency remains steadfast in its mission to create a cleaner, greener and more resilient Edo State, in line with the vision of the state governor Senator Monday Okpebholo's SHINE Agenda.
