In his address, His Royal Majesty, Omo N'Oba N'Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, delivered a profound and inspiring speech, reflecting on the painful history surrounding the 1897 British invasion of the Benin Kingdom, during which thousands of priceless royal artifacts were looted and dispersed across museums and private collections around the world. Chief Dr. Billy Famous Adesuwa Osawaru, Member representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency and a distinguished Palace Chief who holds the title "Obazunhunwa of Benin Kingdom. Beyond his legislative responsibilities, Hon. Chief Dr. Osawaru has remained one of the prominent voices advocating for the return of Benin's stolen cultural heritage.
