ESPGA Develops School-Based Plant Nurseries to Support Tree Planting Across Edo
The Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency (ESPGA) has commenced the development of plant nurseries in schools across Edo State as part of its efforts to strengthen tree planting and environmental sustainability initiatives across the state.
The school-based nurseries are designed to serve as planting-material banks, providing healthy seedlings for future tree planting, landscaping, beautification and greening projects across Edo State.
The nurseries will be managed and maintained by the Agency in collaboration with the respective schools, ensuring their continued development and sustainability.
This initiative creates an opportunity for students to gain practical, hands-on experience in nursery development and plant care. Through direct involvement in activities such as seedling propagation, watering, nurturing and general nursery management, students are introduced to the practical aspects of environmental stewardship.
Under the leadership of the Managing Director of ESPGA, Pastor Stanley Dave Ighodaro, the Agency continues to pursue sustainable approaches to expanding Edo State’s green cover while advancing the environmental vision of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, and the SHINE Agenda.
