OVIA NORTH-EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, HON. OROBOSA CHRISTOPHER ERIAMIANTOE PRESENTS BACK-TO-SCHOOL KITS TO INDIGENT PUPILS ACROSS PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN OVIA NORTH EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

 

The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the Executive Chairman of Ovia North-East Local Government Council, Hon. Orobosa Christopher Eriamiantoe kicked off the presentation of back-to-school kit learning materials to indigent pupils across all primary schools in Ovia North-East Local Government Area. 

The exercise commenced with a visit to Eresoyen Primary School in Oluku community where the relief items and educational supplies was presented to beneficiaries by Hon. Orobosa Christopher Eriamiantoe. 

The kits, comprising school backpacks, exercise books and shoes, were presented to beneficiaries as part of a statewide educational outreach being implemented across all 18 Local Government Areas of Edo State.

The initiative is sponsored by the Federal Government through the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), with counterpart funding from the Edo State Government through the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

The Chairman who was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Joseph Egharevba was received at the school by the Headmaster, Mr. Ejokhuo Sunday with Mrs. Aken Bridget, Acting Education Secretary, Ovia North-East Local Government Education Authority.

Presenting the learning materials, Hon. Orobosa Christopher Eriamiantoe lauded the initiative and commended the coordinated effort of the Federal and State Government for the highly impactful intervention. While noting the importance of targeted assistance that support vulnerable children and promote access to basic education.

He also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Sen. Monday Okpebholo for his support in facilitating the much needed intervention in line with the SHINE agenda which is aimed at addressing the educational needs of children across the State.

The outreach underscores the shared commitment of the various levels of government to strengthening basic education, improving the welfare of learners, reducing barriers to education and ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds are not left behind, but equipped with the necessary learning materials to begin and sustain their education effectively.
