Delegation Applauds Gov. Okpebholo, Urges Chairman To Deliver On Mandate

Elders, youth and women from Ugo community in Ugboko Ward, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, comprising the 10 units of the ward, paid a familiarization visit to the newly appointed Executive Chairman of the Edo Ecological Fund Management Commission, Amb. Terry Igiebor, in his Benin City office.

The delegation, made up of stakeholders and APC members, congratulated their son on his appointment by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Leading the group, LGA Secretary of the APC in Orhionmwon, Mr. Larry Enobakhare, described the appointment as well deserved and urged the Chairman to hit the ground running and deliver on ECOFUND’s mandate of tackling ecological challenges in the state. He also invoked the legacy of the Chairman’s late father, the Late Chief Dr. Emmanuel O. Igiebor JP, urging him to surpass his father’s developmental footsteps.

Also present was Mr. Henry Obey, Chairman of Ugboko Ward, alongside Hon. Christopher Otasowie, State Assistant Treasurer of the APC; Mr. Oliseh, President of Non Natives living in Ugo community; and Madam Efosa Elizabeth, Ward Woman Leader, all of whom expressed joy and encouraged the Chairman to stay focused. Mr. Oliseh further reassured the Chairman of the total support of the non natives living in Ugo community.

Sunday Okankan said the appointment made clear there is no more opposition in Ugo community, adding that Ugo people would thank the Governor with the results the community delivers in the coming election.

The delegation presented a congratulatory card and urged the Chairman to work with the Governor to bring democracy dividends to Orhionmwon LGA, particularly Ugboko Ward.

In response, Amb. Igiebor thanked the delegation and pledged that Ugboko Ward would be captured in the E.D.O.S.H.I.N.E Agenda, assuring that no community would be left behind in tackling erosion, flooding and other ecological issues. He added that winning the 10 units in Ugo was not the issue, but winning them overwhelmingly, as a way of saying a big thank you to the Governor.

The visit ended with prayers for the Chairman and the Okpebholo administration.
