Dear Prof Edoba, 

I write to congratulate you on your well-deserved appointment as the 11th substantive Vice Chancellor of the prestigious University of Benin, which happens to be my alma mater.

In the field of academics and your drive for intellectualism, you have distinguished yourself by reaching the apogee of academic pursuit and accomplishments as a Professor of Law. In the legal profession, you have cut an enviable niche as a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). You have also blazed the trail as a consummate administrator of international repute with decades of excellent cognate experience in human and resource management. 

I am therefore very elated that a Man of your caliber, experience, brilliance, intellectual quotient, and patriotism as a true son of the soil was appointed by the Senate and governing council of the ivory tower after a rigorous screening process. I am convinced and confident that you will apply your enormous experience in moving the citadel of learning to a new level of excellence. 

On behalf of my family, political associates, and the good people of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode federal constituency, I heartily congratulate you. As you embrace the challenges of your new appointment, I pray God continues to renew your strength and endow you with robust health of mind and body.
