IN MEMORY OF UNITY: A PLEA TO HEAL UHUNWMONDE

It deeply saddens me to see how the pursuit of power has sown seeds of disunity and hatred among my Uhunmwode people. We seem to have forgotten the timeless truth: _it is the Lord who bestows blessings upon whom He chooses._
What pains me most is how quickly we lose sight of the journey we have traveled together. It would serve us well to take time in quiet reflection, to recall how many of you, our leaders started this path united and how so many have joined their maker. *None left with power!* In fact, at the point of their departure, they were at their weakest. Just like them, we shall all pass that route. What is not certain is WHEN.
As I gaze repeatedly at the photo of my late brother, *Stanley Enoma,* memories of that fateful Governorship election night flood back. I can vividly recall how tirelessly he worked, moving from house to house to ensure the success of his beloved party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). After victory, he led the celebration through our Isi North villages, embodying the spirit of unity. Yet today, he is no more😢😢
Should I say more? What about the loyal party leaders who are no longer here, those whose hearts burned with passion for the development of our dear Uhunmwode? - *Barr. John Obaze, Monday Okpenki, Jolly Iyekeroetin (a.k.a Okitikiti), Obamwonyi of Umagbae South and other fallen heroes of APC in Uhunmwode😢😢*
I keep asking myself, why the hatred, why the divisions, and why this relentless struggle for fleeting power? Is it not this same Power that is so transient?
Personally, I no longer have any satisfaction being addressed as the LGA party secretary, just as others so many others who hold party positions across Uhunmwode. We have made politicking in Uhunmwode so colorless and uninteresting. We are all guilty!
If the collective goal is truly the growth of Uhunmwonde, then personal ambitions must take a backseat. Division has brought us no benefits but has instead invited external influences into decisions that should remain within our local government.
I appeal to all leaders of goodwill in Uhunmwode, let us raise the banners of unity, peace, coexistence, and harmony. Only through these values can we chart a course to fulfill the dreams we share for our local government.
Let's come together, while we still have the privilege, to contribute meaningfully to Uhunmwonde’s development. This is the debt we owe to our people.
