The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, has anchored her vision for the hospital on a simple but powerful principle- *"C.A.R.E.S."*. The acronym represents a practical, transformative agenda designed to reposition UBTH as a model of excellence in healthcare delivery, research, and staff welfare.
At the heart of CARES is the drive to achieve clinical excellence while expanding access to quality healthcare. It seeks to make health services both affordable and accessible, with particular focus on reducing maternal and child mortality through the use of smart and advanced telecommunication systems that enhance efficiency and speed in patient care.
