Today, we proudly celebrate one year of purposeful and visionary leadership under His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo — a leader whose commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more beautiful Edo State has redefined environmental governance. In just 365 days, the Okpebholo administration has demonstrated that environmental transformation is not a luxury but a necessity for sustainable growth, tourism, and the well-being of our people.

Under His Excellency’s watch, Edo State has witnessed bold strides toward a greener and healthier future. The transformation of Prestige Park (now IHAMA Park) and Gapiona Park, alongside extensive vegetation-control and beautification projects across major roads and communities, reflects a deliberate and strategic vision for environmental renewal. These efforts are breathing new life into public spaces, encouraging social interaction, improving air quality, and making Edo’s capital city a true reflection of harmony between nature and development.

Governor Okpebholo’s green initiatives go far beyond beautification. They form part of a broader master plan to position Edo State as a model for eco-friendly tourism, urban renewal, and youth engagement. Through the Edo State Parks and Gardens Agency, thousands of young people have been empowered to take part in city cleaning, landscaping, and horticultural maintenance — proving that environmental transformation can create jobs, restore dignity, and inspire civic pride among the people.
