On behalf of the Management and Staff of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), I extend heartfelt congratulations to you on the remarkable milestone of your first anniversary in office. Over this past year, your vision, humility, and unwavering commitment to service have begun to transform Edo State- restoring hope, confidence, and dignity to the lives of ordinary citizens.

Your stewardship is profoundly felt across the state. From mothers and fathers watching over the health of their children, to students striving to build a brighter future, to workers and entrepreneurs seeking opportunity, your actions have touched hearts and renewed faith in governance. Every achievement of your administration reflects a leadership anchored on integrity, compassion, and accountability, with real and lasting impact on the lives of the people.

In the economic and fiscal sphere, you have empowered grassroots entrepreneurs, market women, artisans, and small business owners through interest-free loan schemes, breathing new life into communities and restoring hope for sustainable livelihoods.

Your focus on infrastructure and transport has begun to reshape the state’s landscape. While work continues in the capital, vital interventions are connecting rural and peri-urban communities, improving access to services, and rekindling pride in state institutions. The revival of the New Edo Line Transport Service is a shining symbol of opportunity, job creation, and the return of Edo’s industrious spirit.

In education, your achievements are tangible and transformative. At Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, your administration increased the monthly subvention from ₦41 million to ₦500 million, revitalizing finances and enabling prompt payment of staff salaries. The approval of a 500‑bed hostel for the medical school, alongside the settlement of long-standing entitlements totaling ₦4.6 billion for 714 disengaged staff at the Colleges of Education in Ekiadolor and Igueben, restored dignity, justice, and hope to educators and their families. These initiatives demonstrate your unwavering commitment to learning, skills development, and youth empowerment.

But it is in the health sector that your stewardship has touched hearts most profoundly. The renovation of the Resident Doctors’ Quarters at Ezoti and the payment of the Medical Residency Training Fund have strengthened morale and elevated service delivery. The establishment of the first Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) Centre in the South-South region restores dignity to women who have endured unimaginable suffering. Your two-year free malaria testing and treatment programme has brought tangible relief to countless families, saving lives and offering hope where despair once prevailed.

Above all, your donation of the ₦2.5 billion world-class Paediatric Complex to UBTH is a testament to your love for the people and your commitment to the most vulnerable. For every mother, father, and guardian watching anxiously over the health of their children, this facility is far more than bricks and mortar- it is a project that guarantees every child, regardless of religion, background, or economic status, the access to world-class care. Parents across Edo can rest easier knowing their children are protected, cared for, and given the best chance at life. This extraordinary gesture embodies your profound empathy and unwavering dedication to the well-being of the people.
