𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗜 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

 


The University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, welcomed members of the Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutes, and Allied Institutions (SSAUTHRIAI) for a Special Sectoral Council Meeting. 


Delegates from across the country gathered in Benin City, Edo State, for deliberations on staff welfare, industrial harmony, and capacity strengthening in the healthcare sector.


Comrade Osamwonyi Igbinuwen, Branch Chairman, welcomed delegates to Benin City and expressed gratitude to the Chief Medical Director, Professor (Mrs.) Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, and the NEC leadership, led by Dr. B. A. Akintola for their support and commitment to staff welfare.


The CMD UBTH, Professor Mrs. Ize-Iyamu, warmly welcomed the delegates to Benin City, emphasizing the critical role of SSAUTHRIAI as a partner in UBTH’s pursuit of staff welfare, operational efficiency, and industrial harmony. She called on delegates to prioritize dialogue, capacity building, and sustained collaboration to strengthen both individual and institutional performance.


The CMD also acknowledged the contributions of the UBTH SSA branch in supporting the UBTH Cares Agenda, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and productive working environment for all staff. She encouraged delegates to engage fully in the sessions, exchange ideas, and explore innovative approaches to improving service delivery and staff satisfaction.


The local organizing committee was commended for their meticulous planning and execution, ensuring a smooth and successful hosting of the meeting. Delegates were encouraged to explore the cultural richness of Benin City while participating in fruitful deliberations aimed at advancing the collective interests of SSAUTHRIAI members nationwide.
