UBTH CELEBRATES IMPACTFUL DONATION FROM PASTOR ADEMOLA IGE MARKING HIS 60TH BIRTHDAY
Today, 5th December 2025, the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) received a generous donation of a patient monitor and accompanying kits from Pastor Ademola Ige, Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and a former patient of the UBTH Renal Unit.
This gesture, made in commemoration of his 60th birthday, reflects profound gratitude for the care he received at the hospital during his management in 2021. Pastor Ige narrated his recovery journey with warmth and appreciation, noting the exceptional professionalism, empathy, and clinical expertise demonstrated by the Renal Unit during his treatment. He also acknowledged with deep emotion the life-saving sacrifice of his wife, who served as his donor. Both are now in excellent health.
In my remarks as Chief Medical Director, I expressed heartfelt appreciation for Pastor Ige’s kindness and for choosing UBTH as the place to mark this significant milestone. I reiterated that every act of giving back strengthens the healthcare system and encourages a shared responsibility for sustaining quality patient care. I celebrated him on his 60th birthday and prayed that God grants him continued long life, robust health, and prosperity.
The donated patient monitor will significantly enhance clinical service delivery in the Renal Unit, supporting ongoing efforts toward improved patient outcomes.
Pastor Ige’s thoughtful gesture underscores the value of partnership between healthcare institutions and the communities they serve. It also reaffirms UBTH’s unwavering commitment to compassion-driven, patient-centred care rooted in excellence.
