How Hon. Billy Osawaru is Transforming Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode.

 

Across Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Famous Adesuwa Osawaru has redefined what it means to represent the people. 

Far from empty campaign promises, his tenure in the House of Representatives has been marked by tangible, community-focused interventions that touch every facet of daily life.

Since taking office, Hon. Osawaru has implemented a wide range of constituency projects aimed at improving infrastructure, education, health, and economic empowerment.

Thousands of residents now enjoy safer streets thanks to solar-powered street lights installed across 18 of the 22 wards in the constituency. 

Road accessibility has improved with the grading of numerous earth roads and the construction of key link roads such as the Idumwinye Community town hall Road and Izekor Road, easing movement and trade within local communities.

Education has also been a priority. Hon. Osawaru has facilitated the construction of classroom blocks in Osaretin and Idumodin Primary Schools, as well as Umagbae Secondary School, while providing state-of-the-art school furniture to several institutions. 

Over 40 youths have benefitted from ICT training and laptops, enhancing digital skills for the next generation.

Healthcare initiatives remain a cornerstone of his representation. More than five free medical outreaches have been conducted, reaching communities including Ehor, Umagbae North and South, Abudu, and Sakponba. Primary health centers, such as the Urhonigbe PHC, have been built to ensure access to basic healthcare.

Agriculture and economic empowerment have not been left behind. Fertilizers have been distributed to farmers, and over 100 market women received trading grants, sewing machines, and agro-based tricycles, promoting self-sufficiency.

 Job placements for youths in federal and state agencies, along with international scholarships, demonstrate Hon. Osawaru’s commitment to human capital development, most recently exemplified by a scholarship facilitated for Orhionmwon indigene Mr. Osaruwmense Ogiku at the University of Benin.

In his legislative role, Hon. Osawaru has moved over 18 motions, sponsored more than five bills, and raised numerous petitions, ensuring that the federal constituency’s voice resonates in the National Assembly.

For residents, his mantra of “action over promises” is evident on the ground. Street by street, community by community, Hon. Osawaru’s projects are improving lives, fostering economic growth, and shining a national spotlight on Orhionmwon and Uhunmwode. Constituents now attest that leadership is not about rhetoric—it is about consistent, measurable results.
