MALICIOUS ALLEGATIONS OF FALSE MISREPRESENTATION AND CERTIFICATE FORGERY: DEMAND FOR IMMEDIATE RETRACTION AND PUBLIC APOLOGY
We act as Solicitors for Hon Billy Famous Adesuwa Osawaru, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Cooperation and Integration in Africa, and Member of the Nigerian House of Representatives representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency (hereinafter referred to as"Our client") and on whose firm instructions we write to you regarding your defamatory statements made against him at Igbanke, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, on April 6, 2026.
Your allegations that our client was rusticated from the University of Benin, is a native doctor, and lacks academic qualifications are patently false, baseless, malicious, damaging to his reputation, and therefore unacceptable and action per se.
Take notice, that Our client holds a degree in Microbiology from the University of Benin, and postgraduate degrees in Business Administration( International Business) from Schiller International and Argosy Universities, USA.
Your assertion that our client contested elections with the minimum qualifications required by law does not make him unqualified for the position he is currently occupying and it cannot justify your slanderous attack against his person and academic credentials. You hereby reminded that the Independent National Electoral Commission is not one of the schools attended by our client and as such INEC cannot be your source of validation of our client's enviable academic qualifications.
We therefore wish to put you on notice, that unless you retract these allegations and apologize publicly within 7 days, our client will seek damages against you for defamation and take all such other legal steps to redress your off and online attacks/threats against him.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed!
Yours faithfully,
Hannibal Egbe Uwaifo, SAN
