Edo South 2027: “Ize-Iyamu is the most influential aspirant,” says Hon. Osagie
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the leading APC aspirant for the Edo South senatorial ticket in the 2027 elections, has been described as the most influential political figure in the district – an attribute considered essential for effective and impactful representation in the Senate.
This assertion was made on April 28 during a consultative meeting between Ize-Iyamu and leaders of the APC in Uhunmwode Local Government Area. Speaking at the gathering, former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Samson Osagie, highlighted Ize-Iyamu’s extensive political network and enduring relevance within the state’s political landscape.
According to him, Ize-Iyamu’s strength and reach across political circles position him as a formidable asset who can open strategic doors at the highest levels of governance, including the Presidency, for the benefit of Edo South.
Further endorsing his candidacy, Hon. Osagie stressed that Edo South requires a senator who can speak boldly and advocate decisively for the interests of the people. He noted that Ize-Iyamu possesses these critical qualities needed to deliver meaningful representation at the national level.
The former federal lawmaker also lamented what he described as the district’s inadequate share of federal patronage compared to other senatorial districts in Edo State. “We don’t need tokens,” he said. “With Ize-Iyamu in the Senate, Edo South will not lack substantial federal appointments.”
In conclusion, Hon. Osagie described Ize-Iyamu as accessible, humble, and inclusive, noting that his leadership would benefit all. He called on members of the APC across Edo South to rally behind Ize-Iyamu to secure the party’s nomination.
