HON. CHIEF DR. BILLY FAMOUS ADESUWA OSAWARU CELEBRATES CHILDREN'S DAY 2026: ADVOCATING A FUTURE OF INCLUSION, QUALITY EDUCATION, SAFETY, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES, AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO BUILDING A BETTER TOMORROW FOR EVERY NIGERIAN CHILD
Children's Day Celebration: Hon. Osawaru honors Our Future Leaders
May 27th, 2026
As we celebrate the 2026 Children’s Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the invaluable gifts that our children represent; their potential, their dreams, and their boundless energy. This day is not merely a celebration; it serves as a poignant reminder of our responsibilities towards these members of our society, who are, without a doubt, the future of our nation.
Children are the torchbearers of hope, resilience, and innovation. They possess an innate curiosity that drives them to explore, learn, and ultimately shape the world around them. We must nurture this spirit, giving them the encouragement and resources they need to grow into strong, capable individuals. As leaders and policy makers, we must create a bully-free and conducive environment that fosters creativity, instills values, and emphasizes education which is the cornerstone for a prosperous future.
On this day, let us commit to prioritizing the well-being of our children by internalizing the theme of this year's celebration: “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child" announced by the Federal Ministry of Women affairs could not have been more timely. This entails creating an environment both at home, in school, and in our various communities that is violence-free, guarantees safety, and protects the rights of children, giving them access to quality education, inclusion in policy making and healthcare. We must advocate for policies that foster their healthy development, shielding them from the myriad challenges that threaten their innocence and potential. Every child deserves a chance to dream, and it is our solemn responsibility to ensure that those dreams can flourish.
As we commemorate Children’s Day, let us engage in conversations that matter. Let us listen to their hopes and fears, allowing their perspectives to guide our decisions. We are the stewards of their childhood, a sacred phase of life that must be cherished and protected. Together, we can build a foundation where children thrive, where they feel valued, included and where they are equipped to tackle the challenges of tomorrow.
Happy Children’s Day to all the wonderful kids out there! You are the heartbeat of our nation, and we believe in you. Be assured of my commitment to continuous advocacy for your welfare.
With love and best wishes.
