 HON. BILLY OSAWARU RECEIVES ROUSING WELCOME FROM EDO MARKET WOMEN FOR ASIWAJU

Benin City, Edo State — September 18, 2026

The Honourable Member representing the good people of Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Dr. Billy Adesuwa Osawaru, was on Friday warmly received at the Benin Airport by members of Edo State Market Women for Asiwaju, in a colourful display of solidarity, excitement and political support.

The atmosphere at the airport was charged with excitement as the women welcomed the federal lawmaker with songs of victory, chants and words of encouragement, creating a vibrant scene that underscored their strong enthusiasm for the political movement they identify with.

The women, through their chants and expressions of solidarity, reaffirmed their support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and declared their readiness to continue supporting candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels.

Their message was clear: they are prepared to mobilise collectively and contribute their quota towards the realisation of the political support base being projected for President Tinubu in Edo State.

The warm reception also reflected the significance of the market women as an important constituency within Edo's socio-economic and civic landscape. The Edo State Market Women Association has for years maintained a structured presence across the state's 18 Local Government Areas.

The women’s show of solidarity towards Hon. Osawaru further demonstrated their desire to maintain engagement with political leaders and stakeholders whose activities affect the welfare, economic opportunities and development of ordinary citizens.

Addressing the cheering women, Hon. Osawaru appreciated them for the warm reception and for their continued commitment to the ideals they believe will advance the interests of Edo State and Nigeria.
